Challenges related to Palestine/Israel and the Palestinians

The Mediterranean area is torn by conflicts and the most enduring one is the conflict in the Middle East. As in other similar situations, the conflicting parties have failed to place respect for human rights and international humanitarian law at the heart of conflict prevention, management and resolution. Basic human rights aspects of human beings security are therefore neither respected nor implemented in the region. Promoting respect for human rights and international humanitarian law is thus crucial for the Middle East.
In regards to Israel and the Palestinian territories, the overall objective of the Network is to support the development of democratic institutions, the promotion of the rule of law, and human rights. A prerequisite for this is that the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories ends.




 Palestine/Israel and the Palestinians Working Group

For the purpose of furthering its work on Palestine, the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Network has established a Working Group devoted to the Palestine/Israel and the Palestinians.
