Jordan-EU Relations

EU relations with Jordan are governed by the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership that is implemented through the EU-Jordan Association Agreement and the regional dimension of the Barcelona Process.

Association Agreement

The Association Agreement with Jordan was signed on November 24, 1997. It entered into force on May 1, 2002.

It aas decided to create 10 thematic sub-committees to implement the action plan of the ENP to work out in detail the agenda agreed in the Association Agreement. The thematic areas include trade and investment promotion, agriculture, science and technology, regional co-operation, social affairs, customs, human rights and democracy, energy and environment, transport and regulatory reform.
