EU relations with Jordan are governed by the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership that is implemented through the EU-Jordan Association Agreement and the regional dimension of the Barcelona Process. |

Association Agreement |
|
The Association Agreement with Jordan was signed on November 24, 1997. It entered into force on May 1, 2002. It aas decided to create 10 thematic sub-committees to implement the action plan of the ENP to work out in detail the agenda agreed in the Association Agreement. The thematic areas include trade and investment promotion, agriculture, science and technology, regional co-operation, social affairs, customs, human rights and democracy, energy and environment, transport and regulatory reform. |

European Neighbourhood Policy |

The following are documents adopted in the framework of the European Neighbourhood Policy: The Strategy paper establishes a strategic framewok for the 2002-2006 EU assistance. This document describes the EU cooperation objectives, the priority fields of cooperation, on the basis of a complete evaluation of the partner's political agenda and socio-economic and political situation.
