Lebanon and the European Community first established contractual relations in 1977 by signing a Co-operation Agreement between the EEC and the Lebanese Republic, which entered into force in November 1978. Lebanon is one of the EU’s long-standing partners in the framework of the Euro Mediterranean Partnership. |

Association Agreement |

The EU-Lebanon Association Agreement was signed on in 2002 and came into force on 1 April 2006. The first Association Council was held on 12 April 2006.

European Neighbourhood Policy |
