Freedom of Association in the Euro-Mediterranean region

This initial study presents a comprehensive review of the legislation and practices pertaining to freedom of association in the Euro-Mediterranean region.

The approach adopted here is essentially descriptive and seeks to provide organisations active in the field with a tool that can be used in their actions in the area of freedom of association. For reasons of practicability and feasibility, the first report focuses only on human rights NGOs.

The scope of the organisations covered could, however, be broadened in future editions. Regular updates are envisaged, every year if possible, so as to improve and augment the report as the situation of freedom of association evolves in the region.
